In twelve critically-acclaimed books and several dozen articles, Jessica Harris has explored the culinary and cultural ties that connect West Africa, South America, the Caribbean and the American South. She is a contributing editor at Saveur magazine. She also hosts a monthly radio show on Heritage Radio Network, My Welcome Table, that focuses on food, travel, music, and memoir. Jessica Harris holds degrees from Bryn Mawr College; Queens College, New York; The Université de Nancy and New York University. In 2012, the Smithsonian Institution asked Dr. Harris to design and curate the cafeteria for the new National Museum of African American History and Culture.
