Feeding Kids Well

Restrict Marketing

Unhealthy products in the food industry advertise significantly more than healthy foods. Outside of school, children see these advertisements on television, billboards, social media, and many other places. In schools, the food industry advertises through vending machines, scoreboards, school discount nights, and athletic equipment.

Health Comic

When creating a nutrition policy, schools need to commit to pursuing relationships with healthier food companies for sponsorship relationships. Schools could partner with a local farm or companies that are not food related. Because children are very susceptible to advertising it is important for schools to understand the impact promoting unhealthy foods could have on students.
